Some impressions on the range from members and guests...."I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Bill Quirk, Mike Baker, and Alan Gray for sharing their "skills" with those of us who participated in the Basic of Shooting Pistol course. What a wonderful experience this was for all those who attended! Each of the Instructors offered to share their EXTENSIVE experience, and a variety of communication/teaching skills; with their: quick "whit", sports analogies (tennis stance, and golf "follow through"), sense of humor and their usage of the varied visual, auditory, and tactile teaching methods....this was a class for ALL! There were some members of the class who had no experience at all with any guns. After this class the students walked away with a knowledge of gun safety, handling, and practical target experience. They were confident and proficient. An amazing transformation. The instructors left no one behind--and constantly asked if anyone had any questions, concerns, or needed additional time with any one aspect of the course. I will be looking for future class dates and encouraging everyone to attend! They were organized and made efficient time of the class hours. If this course was to be rated I would have to give this 5 stars. To put it mildly this was the Best of the Best--and we have it right here in Gainesville!!!! What a wonderful contribution they make to our community, and accolades to the Gainesville Target Range--for offering this service to our members. WTG Ron Shema! And Thanks a Million!

This is the answer to a problem that has nagged me for several years. Namely, how could I find a suitable place to teach my children to shoot. I've looked at rural land, but couldn't justify buying 10 or more acres of land to maintain in a natural or agricultural state for my primary goal of teaching my children to shoot and handle firearms. (In fact, the annual property taxes on agricultural-classified lands I've looked at are greater than the annual membership fee at your range.) And, lately, my participation with Cub Scouts has shown me that there is a need for a range that meets the requirements of Scout's rules so that these boys can be exposed to safe shooting.
